Help / Q&A

How to use The Clipboard.

Quick answers for saving shoots, choosing pages, uploading logos, installing the app, syncing between devices, and fixing weather/location issues.

Access

Use the same email address used at checkout. Founder access is tied to that email.

Save / sync

Local save works on one device. Cloud sync works across devices when logged in.

Weather

Use automatic location first, then manual suburb/city if the browser blocks location.

Quick answers

Most common questions

Where does a shoot save?

Each saved shoot is treated as a project bundle. The client details, selected pages, notes, uploaded images, mood boards, invoices, releases, checklists, and custom pages stay inside that shoot/project record.

How do I open it again later?

Open the project or shoot library, choose the client/shoot name, and the selected pages plus saved content should reopen with that record.

Does it sync between laptop, phone, and iPad?

Yes when you are logged in with the same email and cloud sync is active. If you are not logged in, the app can still save locally on that device, but it will not automatically appear on your other devices.

What logo size should I upload?

Best result: transparent PNG, square, 1000 x 1000px or 1200 x 1200px, under 2 MB. A clean circular, badge, or studio mark works best for the app and invoice header.

What image size should I use for covers and mood boards?

Use JPG or PNG. Cover artwork should be landscape, around 1600 x 900px or larger. Mood boards and client images can be square or portrait; keep individual images under 3 MB where possible.

What if weather or sunrise times do not load?

Allow browser location permission first. If it still fails, type the suburb, city, or shoot area into the manual weather/location field and tap Update again.

Workflow

The simple shoot-day process

Create a shoot

Start with a shoot/project name, client name, shoot date, photographer, and location. This becomes the folder for that job.

Choose the pages

Select only the pages needed for that job: daily planner, mood board, location scout, gear, invoice, release forms, notes, and any custom pages.

Upload images

Add mood board images, client reference images, location photos, before/after photos, and your studio logo where needed.

Save and sync

The app auto-saves while you work. Log in on each device with the same email so cloud projects can follow you.

Export or print

Use print/download on invoices and release forms when you need a clean client copy. Back up important projects before major changes.

Install the app

On iPhone/iPad, open in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On desktop, use the browser install option.

Images and branding

Recommended upload sizes

Studio logo

  • Transparent PNG preferred
  • Square: 1000 x 1000px or 1200 x 1200px
  • Keep under 2 MB
  • Badge or clean mark works best

Cover artwork

  • Landscape JPG/PNG
  • Around 1600 x 900px or larger
  • Keep important text away from edges
  • Use light and dark versions where possible

Mood board images

  • JPG/PNG
  • Square, portrait, or landscape is fine
  • Keep under 3 MB each where possible
  • Tap/click images to review larger where supported

Invoice / release print

  • Use the in-app print/download button
  • Keep logo simple and high contrast
  • Check tax label and rate before sending
  • Preview PDF before emailing to a client

Troubleshooting

If something does not work

  • If a button does nothing, refresh once and try again before entering the same information twice.
  • If login email does not arrive, wait a few minutes and check spam/junk before requesting another link.
  • If a project is missing on another device, confirm you are logged in with the same email on both devices.
  • If an image looks cropped, use a larger original image and leave space around the important subject.
  • If print/PDF looks wrong, use the dedicated print button on the invoice or release page rather than printing the whole app screen.
  • If automatic weather fails, use the manual location field with a clear suburb/city and tap Update again.
